What is MMG Checkout?

Mobile Money Guyana (MMG) is Guyana's leading mobile payment platform, enabling customers to make secure digital payments from their MMG-registered mobile accounts.

MMG for WooCommerce Merchants​

The MMG WooCommerce Payment Gateway plugin connects your WooCommerce store to MMG's payment infrastructure. When a customer selects MMG Checkout at your store's checkout, they are redirected to a secure, MMG-hosted payment page to complete their purchase. Once payment is confirmed, the customer is returned to your store and the WooCommerce order is automatically updated.

This means:

  • Payment details are never stored on your WordPress site
  • All transactions are processed by MMG's secure infrastructure
  • Order status updates happen automatically via a callback from MMG

Who Can Use This Plugin?​

This plugin is for registered MMG merchants — businesses in Guyana with an active MMG merchant account and API credentials. To register as an MMG merchant, contact MMG Merchant Services at merchantservices@mmg.gy.

Once you have your API credentials (public key and secret key), you can install and configure the plugin in under 15 minutes.

How It Works​

  1. Customer adds items to their cart and proceeds to checkout on your WooCommerce store.
  2. Customer selects MMG Checkout as the payment method.
  3. Customer is redirected to MMG's secure hosted payment page.
  4. Customer completes payment using their MMG mobile account.
  5. MMG sends a payment notification (callback) to your store.
  6. WooCommerce order status updates automatically to Processing.
